How do I configure CONNEX to control the camera's gimbal?

CONNEX allows control over the camera's gimbal by connecting CONNEX Ground Unit to the RC unit's trainer port and connecting CONNEX Air Unit to the Gimbal's S.BUS input.

CONNEX Ground Unit with SW version below 2.x.x supports only S.BUS protocol, while CONNEX Ground unit with SW version of 2.x.x an up supports also PPM protocol. 

(Please note both Air and Ground units must have the same SW version)

CONNEX link supports up to 16 channels, with packet transfer every 6.3mSec (FASSTest 12CH) or 15mSec (FASSTest 18CH or T-FHSS Mode).

Tested gimbals (Use the S.BUS cable from the Air unit to the camera’s gimbal):

  • DJI Zenmuse Z15, Z15-BMPCC, Z15-5D, Z15-5D III (HD), Z15-GH4 (HD), Z15-GH3
  • FreeFly Movi M5
  • Tarot T-2D (GoPro)
  • DJI Ronin and Ronin-M

Tested RC units that output S.BUS (Use the S.BUS trainer port cable):

  • Futaba T14SG
  • Futaba T18MZ
  • Futaba FX-22
  • Futaba FX-32

Tested RC units that output PPM (Use the PPM trainer port cable):

  • Futaba T14SG
  • Futaba T10J
  • DJI NPVT581
  • DJI SR6
  • Spektrum DX7S
  • JR XG6
